Nanaimo RCMP were asking people to stay out of Bowen Park after a small cougar was seen in the area.
It was spotted running from Wakesiah Ave into the park just after 3:10pm on Thursday, June 12. Conservation Officers and Nanaimo RCMP looked for the animal to determine whether it was a threat but there was no sign of the cougar. The search has ended and Nanaimo RCMP are telling the public to use the trails at their own discretion.
