Vancouver Island University closed at 12:30 pm Tuesday afternoon in Nanaimo, North Cowichan and in Parksville-Qualicum.
Due to the heavy snow in the forecast, facilities are shutting down and the only areas that will be maintained are the Library Commons and the VIU residences.
The next update on classes will be at 6:30 am Wednesday morning.
