Keith Thirkell, a former Sechelt councillor has died, he was 57.
The family of the 30-year Sunshine Coast resident said his death is a result of injuries sustained following an accident in July, while he was assisting a friend in medical distress.
Thirkell worked as a Photojournalist and a Landscape Photographer.
He was first elected to Sechelt council in 2005 and re-elected three years later.
He received the most votes of any council candidates in 2008.
