RCMP Warning for Women and Seniors

The Sunshine Coast RCMP are warning women and seniors about a man in his 40s who may approach them with an offer of help or seeking assistance.

In one case, the RCMP says he offered to assist a woman to arrange for a tow-truck after she locked her keys in her car.

He asked to be paid 80-dollars for his assistance and then disappeared.

Police say he’s approached women and seniors in Sechelt and Gibsons and wants to paid upfront for whatever assistance he’s offering, but does not follow through.

The man has also asked for money, to borrow cell phones, for a ride, and even to stay with a person because he claims to be homeless.
