The Oceanside RCMP is looking for information after a man was killed in a hit and run Saturday.
Police say around 2:40am it received a call that a driver had seen a male body in the middle of the road on Hirst Avenue at McMillan Street.
Oceanside RCMP Corporal Jesse Foreman says “the unknown suspect driver fled the scene and was not present to speak with witnesses or police.”
A 32-year-old Parksville man was confirmed dead as a result of this collision.
Foreman says police are working to gather all forms of evidence as they continue with the investigation and look for a possible suspect.
Traffic specialists including a Collision Re-constructionist were called to assist in the investigation.
