BCTF rotating strikes to continue for third week

The BC Teachers Federation has released the schedule for a third week of rotating strikes.

There will be no walkouts on Monday, but Greater Victoria schools will be affected Tuesday.

Wednesday will see Nanaimo-Ladysmith and Sunshine Coast teachers walking the picket lines, along with teachers in 20 other school districts.

17 school districts will be hit by the rotating strikes on Thursday, and teachers in the remaining 18 will be off the job on Friday.

Meanwhile, the BCTF says it’s coffers are running low and they only have enough money to pay for three more strike days. Daily strike pay for members is $50. This means teachers will be going into next’s week vote on whether or not to move to a full-scale strike knowing they won’t be paid to be on the picket line.
