BC Ferries braces for busiest sailings of the holidays

We’re into the busiest days of the Christmas Break on BC Ferries.

Despite 3 extra round trips Friday on the Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay route, BC Ferries is warning 2 sailing waits could be possible between noon and 5 pm in both directions (there will also be extra sailings on the route December 28th and 29th).

Ferries says the busy times for the  Langdale run will be between 10 and 3 heading to Horseshoe Bay and from 1 to 6 coming from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale.

There have already been a couple of days where terminal parking has been at or near capacity because of a surge in walk-ons, and Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries says that will probably continue into the weekend.

Getting a reservation today, if you don’t already have one, isn’t going to be easy, and Marshall says if you can’t get a reservation it’s best to avoid the peak times.
