The Sale of a Gorgeous Parcel of Land would provide Protection

The purchase of a small parcel of land on the Sunshine Coast would protect it from mountaintop to ocean floor.

That’s according to the BC Parks Foundation, which has raised nearly two million dollars towards the purchase of land east of Powell River.

Foundation CEO Andrew Day said the inlet is a very special area.

“It’s one of the premiere voting destinations in the Pacific Northwest, it’s known throughout the world, lots of people think of it as one of the world’s most beautiful places and certainly one of BC’s,” said Day. “It’s a really cool mecca for people and they really enjoy it.”

The Princess Louisa Inlet is described by the BC Parks Foundation as, “one of the province’s most unique and breathtaking destinations.”

The foundation is looking for help in closing the funding gap of just over a million dollars before the sale agreement expires.

Day said support thus far has been overwhelming.

“Like the outpouring of support that came for the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, when they had a fire there, we’ve seen that same, incredible showing of support from British Columbians and others who have been to the area.”
