With one of the busy weekends of the year upon us, BC Ferries is expecting it to be very busy at terminals throughout coastal BC and the transportation giant certainly didn’t need this.
The Queen of Coquitlam has been removed from service for about one week so crews can repair a sealing mechanism on the propeller blades.
This vessel was scheduled to make three or four round trips a day, but due to this mechanical issue, all Queen of Coquitlam sailings have been cancelled.
Those customers with reservations on the Queen of Surrey aren’t affected by this incident.
Thursday night, BC Ferries is adding a 7:30 sailing from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and an 8:30 sailing from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay.
From Thursday through Canada Day, up to three 40-person water taxis will follow the original Queen of Coquitlam schedule and provide service between the Horseshoe Bay government dock and the Langdale terminal.
Thursday and Friday, water taxi sailings will run from Langdale at 9:30 am., 11:45 am., 2:05 pm., 4:20 pm and from Horseshoe Bay at 10:40 am., 12:55 pm., 3:15 pm., 5:30 pm.
