A Pender Harbour Roadside Cleanup will be taking place this Thursday.

It’s been organized by the Pender Harbour and Area Residents Association.

Randy Picketts says participants can meet at the parking lot next to Petro Can at 12:30 pm to receive their one or 2 kilometre section of road assignment.

The roads to be cleaned are Highway 101 from the Health Centre to Petro Can and the roads into Madeira Park and Garden Bay Road.

Picketts says participants will be provided with gloves, garbage bags, garbage tongs and safety vests, although supplies are limited.

He says in September, a more extensive “Trash Bash” will take place.

That focus will be on back road dump sites in the Pender Harbour area.

During the 2017 Trash Bash, 2 and a half tonnes of garbage, plus 2 cars and a boat trailer were cleaned up.
