Weston continues to support fellow MP's reform bill

West Vancouver Sunshine Coast Conservative MP John Weston says he’s proud to be supporting the Reform Act.
The private members’ bill, introduced last year by Ontario MP Michael Chong (also a Conservative), is designed to give individual MPs – the so-called “backbenchers” – a little more say, and to reduce party leaders’ influence over things like nominations and kicking MPs out of caucus.
Weston says it comes out of a fight over making statements in the Commons, which saw him join Chong and other Tories to demand more freedom.
The bill was up for debate for the first time last week, although there won’t be a vote until September.  Chong was in the riding over the weekend to speak about the bill
