Specialty tires stolen

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating the theft of 23 sets of specialty tires stolen from Fountain Tire in the 4800 block of Wellington Road.

Mounties say the theft happened around 3:30 in the morning last Wednesday.

The value of the tires is in the thousands of dollars.

Video surveillance showed two masked men cutting through the fence of the compound surrounding the business then they spent a considerable amount of time selecting specialized tires designed to fit Bobcats.

A third person was also involved and was seen driving a light grey full-size Ford F350 extended cab, with a grey canopy.
