Nanaimo RCMP are looking for witnesses to a fiery crash on Bowen Road Saturday evening.
Around 7pm a 32 year old Nanaimo man riding a Ducati motorcycle was headed south on Bowen when he collided with a Ford Edge, as it was coming out of the Bowen Centre Mall. Â Both the bike and the SUV were engulfed in flames.
The 28 yr old Qualicum Beach woman driving the Edge and her passenger were taken to Nanaimo Regional General with minor injuries.
The injuries to the motorcyclist were life threatening. Â There was no update on his condition as of Sunday morning.
RCMP say they’ve ruled out alcohol as a factor in the accident, but they’re still trying to figure out if speed played a role.
Police are asking anyone who saw the accident to get in touch with Cst. Wayne Vaughan at the Traffic Unit at 250-754-2345.
