Sechelt Council wants RCMP to target red light and stop sign runners

Councillors in Sechelt are asking RCMP to crack down on drivers breaking the rules at intersections, but one is saying the problem isn’t necessarily the drivers, it’s the intersections themselves.
Councillor Doug Hockley says he’s seen some pretty appalling driving recently, and one thing in particular stands out.
Hockley says he’s also seen a lot of drivers ignoring stop signs along Cowrie Street, forcing pedestrians to scramble to get out of the way.
But Councillor Chris Moore says bad behaviour at intersections could be reduced by roundabouts. He says he plans to keep pushing for them, despite the controversy sparked when one was proposed for Trail Avenue.
The project was dropped during the budget debates.
