Coal plan opponents hoping to grab premier's attention

MLAs are spending their last day at the Legislature before the break, and a group opposing plans to barge US coal to Texada Island is trying to get their attention.
Voters Taking Action on Climate Change says it’s hoping a bold ad in Victoria’s main newspaper will prompt Premier Christy Clark to address the issue.
Kevin Washbrook says the ad targets what they see as a contradiction between the premier’s support for LNG and her silence on the coal plan.
A provincial permit to allow more coal storage on Texada has already been approved, and a decision from Port Metro Vancouver on the Fraser Surrey Docks part of the project is expected next month.
