Walk for Dog Guides takes place May 26

The Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides is a national fundraiser held in as many as 300 communities across Canada on May 26th.
The Walk raises funds for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, whose mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them a Dog Guide at no cost.
It costs 25,000 dollars to raise, train, and place each guide dog.
There are a pair of walks in our listening area and funds are now being raised for those.
In Nanaimo, you can participate in the walk from Bosleys by Pet Value in North Nanaimo.
You can sign in at 9 and the walk starts at 10.
On the lower Sunshine Coast, the Sechelt Lions Club is sponsoring the walk.
The sign-in is at 10 and the walk goes at Hackett Park beginning at 11.
