The Sunshine Coast Regional District is accepting applications for the 2019 Waste Reduction Initiatives Program.
The program has a total of 5,000 dollars available for Sunshine Coast-based community groups and associations, non-profit societies, registered charitable organizations, SD46 and school groups for projects that will reduce waste in the region.
Those projects can include composting, food waste reduction and other recycling initiatives.
Project applications must include a plan for measuring and reporting the amount of waste diverted from the landfill.
The District is accepting applications for the program from now until May 24th.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the SCRD in advance of submitting their application to ensure that their project is eligible for funding.
