Community Clean Up on the Coast

Easter Monday coincides with Earth Day and on the Sunshine Coast, there will be a community Clean Up.

Sunshine Coast Tourism is inviting residents to participate in the very first Sunshine Coast Clean Up.

On Earth Day, April 22nd, the organization is asking residents to take a few minutes out of their day to visit a local beach or trail or any outdoor public space and help clean up.

Take a video while you are at it and post it to hashtag sunshine coast clean up.

The videos will be used in a social media campaign to help tell the community and its visitors that tourism businesses care about natural assets.

It’s recommended participants wear gloves, bring a buddy, bring hand sanitizer, and be careful to deal with garbage that’s within your means to clean up, that is, if you don’t have have a proper sharps container, or if you come across hazardous materials, don’t try to clean up the materials on your own, and instead contact the appropriate organization.
