20 people are out of a home this morning.

That’s following a fire in the supportive housing complex in the 200 block of Terminal Avenue in Nanaimo.

Fire crews responded to multiple reports of a fire in the complex yesterday (Mon) afternoon.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from one of the structures and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The fire department says one of the buildings has extensive smoke damage and 20 individuals have been displaced.
