The Sunshine Coast Community Services Society is looking for a couple of new board members.

Chair of the board, Jason Winkler said they are looking for people committed to supporting community services that help women, children and people in need.

Specifically, Winkler said they could use some members with some financial, legal or fundraising experience.

He said spending time on the board is a good way to give back.

“It’s the largest not-for-profit community service organization on the Sunshine Coast. We have over 35 programs helping everybody from new mothers, immigrants, a shelter for women, the food bank, and a whole bunch of different things that really do impact people’s lives on the Coast.”

Winkler said the terms are two years and start in July.

As for the time commitment, he says it really depends upon what the Society is doing but it could be 6 to 8 hours per month.
