Sheila Malcolmson waits for confirmation
The new MLA-elect for Nanaimo has been taking some time off to get ready for her new life in Victoria.
Sheila Malcolmson said she can’t really do anything else until she’s sworn in.
Malcolmson said first the Legislature has to receive a certified report from Elections BC that she, indeed, was the winner of the Nanaimo by-election.
Once that’s done, Malcolmson says she will be sworn in and can get to work setting up a constituency office in Nanaimo.
Malcolmson says, in the meantime, both North Cowichan-Nanaimo Doug Routley’s office and Parksville-Qualicum Michelle Stilwell’s office have been helping Nanaimo constituents with urgent issues.
