UBC undertaking Rural Health Review

Residents in our listening area are being asked to participate in a rural health issue survey.

It’s being done by the Centre for Rural Health Research, within the Department of Family Practice at UBC.

Christine Carthew said there are a couple of survey questions.

“The major question is, what do you think is the most important priorities for health care in your community. And then we ask, why do you think this is important to elaborate a bit more on the priority, just to get as much detail as possible. That’s something that I want to emphasize, as specific as people can be in their responses the better because we do need to translate these needs into a research question.”

Carthey said no issue is too big or too small.

The information gathered by the Rural Evidence Review project aims to help with rural health service planning in the province and it will be shared with health advocates and legislators.

The survey is brief and anonymous.
