RCMP in BC have cancelled an Amber Alert for two young girls from Vulcan, Alberta.
It was issued on Wednesday after two girls were taken by their mother from an elementary school on Monday. RCMP said they believed 48 year-old Trina Meisel was taking her daughters to the Nanaimo or Ladysmith areas. She does not have legal custody.
With help from the public, they were found Wednesday afternoon in Boston Bar and the mother was arrested without incident.
Police say Meisel is facing 2 counts of abduction, and the girls, ages six and 12, have been taken into police care.
