Deep water equipment being brought in for Slocan Lake search

RCMP say new, deep-water equipment will join the search for three people missing after a canoe accident on Slocan Lake.
The missing include 21 year old Hayden Kyle, who recently moved to the New Denver area (where the other victims are from) from Gibsons.
Tuesday’s search included using underwater sonar. RCMP say they’re now also exploring options like having Emergency Management BC  provide equipment that can search at a deeper depth, such as side scan sonar and an underwater remote vehicle.
RCMP say they expect that equipment to arrive at Slocan Lake on Thursday.
Water depths in the search area run from around 150 metres to over 250.
