You can support the Nanaimo SPCA and get rid of your Christmas tree at the same time.

Trees will be chipped tomorrow (Sat) and Sunday from 11 to 3 at the Brooks Landing Parking Lot with the proceeds going to help, the more than, 1200 abused, neglected and abandoned animals the Society takes in annually.

The cost is “by donation”.

On the Sunshine Coast, for a minimum donation of ten dollars, you can get your Christmas tree chipped at Elphinstone Secondary School.

The tree chipping goes from 10 to 3 Sunday.

Proceeds will support the Elphinstone graduating class.

They’ll also take any bottles and can you might want to donate.

You can also drop off your Christmas tree for composting at Gibsons Public Works Yard, Salish Soils or the Pender Harbour Transfer Station.

The Sechelt Fire Department is hosting their annual Christmas tree chipping event Saturday until 2 o’clock with the drop off by donation.
