Players and coaches from the Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association are coming back to Canada this week.

The team has been representing their country in Beijing, China at a hockey tournament.

Team manager Lisa Stiver said prior to the trip that this was a great opportunity for everyone involved.

“Just seeing the team playing with the boys from China last year it was great,” said Stiver.

“Sports brings people together and even with the language and cultural barriers, they still were able to play and get to know each other, learn together and accomplish great things together.”

Stiver said community members stepped up and donated their money to help make this experience possible for the kids.
