RCMP in the Kootenays say the search for 3 people missing after a canoe accident on Slocan Lake is now a recovery effort.
It happened Saturday evening around 5:30. Â One person has been confirmed dead; a 19 year-old woman from New Denver, Lily Harmer-Taylor.
21 year-old Hayden Kyle who lived in Gibsons, 18 year-old Skye Donnet and 15 year-old Jule Wiltshire-Padfield, both of New Denver, have not been seen since. An RCMP dive team has been in the water since this morning. Â Sgt. Darryl Little says the helicopter failed to spot anyone on shore or on the water earlier.
Little says it’s not clear what caused the canoe to overturn.
