If you’ve been eager to get out and do some cross-country skiing, Dakota Ridge is set to reopen this week.

Sam Adams with the Sunshine Coast Regional District says they’re going to try and open up some trails on Friday and he hopes people will come and take advantage of that.

“Staff is up there trying to prepare for the opening on Friday,” said Adams.

“There’s a bit of snow in the forecast and we’re going to try and open up the trials that we can. For people haven’t been to Dakota Ridge before, you can go cross skiing, snowshoeing and there’s always a family sledding hill, which is quite popular.”

Adams says earlier this week they had 5cm of snow up there and he hopes more will come.

He says the best way to keep up to date about the conditions and other news about Dakota Ridge is to follow their facebook page.
