The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who threatened an employee at a local business with bear spray.

The incident happened way back on October 23rd around 7 at Best Buy in the Country Club Mall.

While the suspect was being escorted from the business due to alleged previous criminal behavior he turned and pulled out a can of bear spray which he pointed at an employee.

The bear spray was not discharged and the man ran from the store.

The suspect was last seen running through the parking lot.

He is described as being as possibly white, 5 ft. 8 with dark hair.

He wore a black hat, Adidas sweater, black pants and was carrying a backpack.
