Be prepared and be safe.
That’s the message from the RCMP as we’re approaching the holiday season.

“There are a few things you can do to make sure you have a good holiday,” said Constable Gary O’Brien.

“Always have a designated driver or get a cab. This is the time of year where people, unfortunately, make poor choices. There’s a number of Christmas parties kicking off, so we’ll have lots of officer on the roads and ensuring that people are safe.”

If you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you should not be driving.

Another reminder from O’Brien is to never leave anything valuable in your car, or you’re asking the thieves to break into it.
