Hospital Foundation aims to raise funds for cardiac care

During December donations to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation will be highlighted by lighting trees outside the hospital.

The Foundation is raising funds to purchase urgently needed cardiac care equipment and expand cardiac services at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Oceanside Health Centre in Parksville.

Every year 8,700 patients receive cardiac ultrasound care at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Oceanside Health Centre in Parksville.

Renovations and equipment for an upgraded department are expected to reduce wait times by as much as 50 per cent and will cost one point 8 million dollars.

This season the Foundation is hoping to raise 750,000 dollars.
