Another Alert Ready test will take place this Wednesday at 1:55.
The emergency alert will be issued to compatible wireless devices, such as smartphones, along with routine television and radio tests across the country.
The test will allow people to ensure their devices are compatible and also raise awareness about the importance of emergency preparedness.
Ahead of the test, residents are encouraged to go to alertready.ca and to ensure their devices are wireless public-alerting compatible and they’ll need to be connected to an LTE or 4G cellular network at the time the emergency alert is issued.
The device will also have to be updated with the latest cellular software.
