RDN swears in new board, elects a chair

The Regional District of Nanaimo has held it’s inaugural Board Meeting.

Nineteen elected officials representing the RDN’s seven electoral areas and four municipalities took oaths of office and became its Board of Directors for a four-year term.

Director Ian Thorpe was elected Chair of the RDN Board and the Nanaimo Regional Hospital District and Director Bob Rogers was elected Vice Chair of the RDN Board.

Thorpe says he’s looking forward to working with the board, listening to residents and ensuring the region continues to provide quality services.
