Men’s health advice

72 per cent of Canadian men are considered unhealthy.

That’s from a report done by the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation.

During this month, the theme is to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

The Program Manager with the foundation believes there’s one thing you should avoid if you’re looking to make improvements in your life.

“Don’t try and change everything at once,” said Joe Rachert.

“If you do that you’re doomed to fail. If you’re looking to reduce your alcohol intake, reduce your smoking or you want to exercise more, don’t combine it all. It won’t work. You should work on one thing at a time until it becomes a habit and then you can try to change something else.

Rachert also said it’s proven that women are better at taking care of themselves than men. And that’s why guys have higher rates of conditions like heart disease.

Having your suggested five glasses of water a day can help lower the chances of heart disease.
