Sechelt survey shows citizen satisfaction slipping

The results are in… and the District of Sechelt’s Citizen Satisfaction Survey says citizens aren’t as satisfied as they used to be.

Just over three-quarters of people pollsters talked to said the overall quality of life in Sechelt is good, but that’s down slightly.

When it comes to the number of people satisfied with District Services there’s been a sharp drop: only 43 per cent are happy (down 15 per cent).   40 per cent remain “neutral”

That result was described by one District official Wednesday night as a “wake up call”.  Mayor John Henderson doesn’t go quite that far.

The top complaints from people in the not satisfied group were around economic development and planning.

The surveyors questioned 300 adults living in Sechelt last November.  The margin of error in the survey is plus or minus 5.7 per cent 19 times out of 20.  The full results are being posted to the District website at www.sechelt.ca
