Investment in childcare support for the Sunshine Coast

The Sechelt Nation and Sunshine Coast Community Services Society will be getting some funding to improve child care services.

It’s unclear how much of the pie they’ll be getting from the federal government and the province.

“They are two of 82 organizations who will share a total of $30 million over the next three years,” said Nic Simons, MLA for Powell River-Sunshine Coast.

“The families in our community will benefit from this. The children with those special needs will have the kind of quality child care that meets their needs.”

Simons said this all ties in with the BC government’s Early Learning and Child Care agreement with the Government of Canada.
