Nanaimo’s voter turnout more than 40 per cent

The dust is settling on the general municipal election and preliminary results are being confirmed.

The official results will be declared by Wednesday.

Voter turnout was 40 point 8 per cent.

In comparison, voter turnout for the 2014 election was 34 point one per cent of registered voters.

At the advance polls and on General Election Day, a combined total of 27,475 valid votes were cast at 12 different polling stations.
