Gibsons Council is poised to finalize its 2014 budget.
The spending plan calls for a 5 per cent tax rate increase.
2 per cent is earmarked to go to the Gibsons Landing Harbour Authority, but the Town says that portion isn’t likely to make a difference in the bottom line for many homeowners because it’s roughly the same amount that used to be taxed directly by the Sunshine Coast Regional District for it’s Ports Function.
The Town pulled out of that function, so it could direct more funds to maintaining and improving its own harbour.
