The Sunshine Coast is already well known as a destination for mountain bikers, but that’s just a portion of the potential cycle tourism market.
Tim Howard is a Director with Transportation Choices Sunshine Coast. TraC is helping the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce and the Visitor Information Centre with a workshop to generate ideas for attracting more cycle tourists.
And, Howard says it doesn’t have to start with adding bike paths or improving infrastructure.
Howard also points out that the Sunshine Coast is sitting next door to one of the fastest growing populations of cyclists in BC.
