Reward to find bear killers more than doubles

Sunshine Coast residents are upset over the fact three bears were killed and discovered in the Roberts Creek area.

A couple of residents along with the Fur-Bearers have set aside some cash to help find the person responsible.

“We received quite a bit of public interest about this case,” said Lesley Fox, the Executive Director of the Fur-Bearers.

“Many people wanted to help. Whether it was sharing some information about the case on their social media or in some cases people contributed towards the reward. So one lady in Sechelt generously donated $1000 and a gentleman in Gibsons donated $500.”

The Fur-Bearers have also set aside $1000 making the total reward of $2500.

It was a mother bear and her two cubs that were killed and any information about this should be passed on to the Conservation Officer Service. You can call the RAPP line to remain anonymous.
