State of the Island Summit has a full slate

How will Vancouver Island’s new Foreign Trade Zone designation work and what will it do for industry?

And what will the new trade agreement with the U.S. and Mexico mean to our economy?

A group of panelists, including Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will be on hand at the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance’s State of the Island Summit later this month to discuss the implications.

Alliance president, George Hanson said other topics up for discussion include the legalization of cannabis, Indigenous tourism and the Island Good campaign among others.

Besides hearing the latest information on the State of the Island, the Summit will feature comments from Premier John Horgan and Jonathan Wilkinson, the Federal Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard.
