One advance poll down, one to go

After one advance polling day the numbers of ballots cast are down a bit, but there is one more day to go before the general election.

202 advance ballots were cast on Wednesday in Gibsons, that’s down from 2014 according to Wendy Lee, the Town’s chief elections officer.

In the District of Sechelt, 273 advance votes were cast, down from the 391 cast in advance polls in 2014.

In Nanaimo, there were 1,500 advance ballots cast, that compares to a two day total in 2014 of more than 2,200.

In the Regional District of Nanaimo, 693 ballots were cast at 5 polling stations.

Gibsons, the SCRD, Nanaimo and the RDN will be holding one more advance poll on October 17th.

In Sechelt, you can cast an advance ballot on October 16th.

The general election is October 20th.
