Truck catches on fire on Highway 101

The driver of the truck that caught on fire on highway 101 managed to make it out without being harmed.
The incident happened yesterday (Tues) around the Jack Road area of the highway and the truck was not salvageable.
“When we arrived, the truck was already fully involved and there were several explosions occurring,” said Trevor Pike, Chief of Sechelt’s Fire Department.
“Thankfully our crew members and the driver of the truck was not hurt. We spoke to the driver after and he said he was having some mechanical issues with the truck but didn’t expect anything like that would happen.”

Pike also said the driver was on his way to Gibsons and pulled over after seeing smoke in his rearview mirror.

He took out his personal belonging and the truck caught on fire shortly after that.
