Gibsons Town Hall has been hit by vandals.
It happened sometime late Thursday night or early Friday morning.
Somebody smashed three windows in the entrance way, causing a lot of expensive damage. Town CAO Manny Machado says it will likely cost thousands to replace the windows, which are custom sized, as well as the main door. He says insurance will only cover part of the cost.
Machado also says there’s nothing to suggest the vandalism was tied to a break-in attempt, or any of the recent political controversies in the town.
Sunshine Coast RCMP are hoping to hear from anybody with information.
