Community dialogue on housing

Sunshine Coast Community Services is encouraging the public to RSVP before this week’s Community Dialogue on Housing.
“This is 1 part of a 3 part series to talk about the responsibilities of the local government and what can and can’t be provided by them when it comes to housing,” said Devon Kennedy.
“One of the best ways to reduce poverty is to provide affordable housing. With the municipal election coming up, we really believe municipalities have a role in ensuring there is affordable housing for the community. That also requires the community to be engaged in the election process.”
The best way to RSVP is by calling the Sunshine Coast Community Service’s office before the event next Thursday night at the Roberts Creek Hall.

The second event is on October 5th. It’ll be a Sechelt and Gibsons all candidates meeting with the focus on housing.
