Fire restrictions continue in Nanaimo

Although the Coastal Fire Centre has lifted the campfire ban, the City of Nanaimo bylaw remains in effect which does not allow open burning within City limits.

Open backyard burning is not allowed.

Outdoor cooking fires are permitted on private property in Nanaimo, provided the fire is contained in a device that’s no larger than two feet in diameter.

Only clean, dry wood or briquettes can be burned and for no longer than two hours.
