The Lions Housing Society is looking to get the okay for an Official Comunity Plan and Zoning amendments in Sechelt.
“We want to want to build a couple of five-storey buildings at our Greenecourt property and there would 104 total rental units available for seniors.
“The need for affordable senior’s housing has increased significantly during our planning period. We have approximately 200 people on our waiting list, many of whom qualify for rent geared to income or deep subsidy housing.”
The non-profit society has already received the first reading of its bylaw relating to this project and the next step is for the District of Sechelt to determine a date for the Public Hearing.
