Organizers and volunteers will be out in the community to clean up illegally dumped garbage Saturday.
“The annual trash bash tends to clean up tonnes of garbage throughout the coast and we’re asking volunteers to meet up at Lion’s Park in Pender Harbour at 11:00,” said Karen Dyck.
“Teams will be sent out to known dump areas to collect household items that have been left behind. There will be everything from washers, dryers, refrigerators and whatever else we can find, we’ll take it to the dump.”
Volunteers wear sturdy shoes or work boots, bring gloves and also a rake or a shovel.
A free lunch will also be provided to the volunteers.
