St Hilda’s Anglican church aims to have open house by the end of the year

The renovation costs at St Hilda Anglican Church have been adding up but the church is optimistic and hopes to have an open house by the end of this year.

Water leaks, plumbing and wiring issues were discovered and the entire project is expected to cost around $1.3 million.

However, progress is being made and the hope is to have an open house for the public by mid-November.

“If you’ve driven by recently, you’ll notice is scaffolding is down,” said Janet McIntosh.
“The siding is almost complete, the contractors are doing their touch-ups. The inside main painting is finished and there are some touch ups and cleanups that need to be done.”
The church has raised more $600,000 in donations and they will continue fundraising and also apply for different grants.
A tentative date for the open house has been set and that will be on November 18th.
