3 in custody after stealing from cars in Nanaimo and Parksville

Nanaimo RCMP have some prolific thieves in custody, believed to be responsible for numerous thefts from cars in the area. Four people were arrested after police searched a home in the 2000 block of Bowen Road on April 18. Police found numerous items reported stolen from cars throughout Nanaimo and Parksville, including cell phones, wallets and mechanical equipment.

Three people, including one man and two women between the ages of 24 and 27, appeared in court Tuesday and were remanded in custody until April 29. They are all from Nanaimo. Constable Gary O’Brien says they’ll face charges of Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and Use Forged Documents.

A 38-year-old man was released on a Promise to Appear and is expected back in court at the end of June.
